Dracula cordobae is a fascinating botanical orchid native to the humid cloud forests of Ecuador. It is particularly appreciated for its extraordinary flowers, characterised by their triangular shape, elongated sepal tails, and intricate markings in shades of cream, yellow, and reddish-brown. Its unusual floral structure gives this species a distinctive and captivating appearance.
Dracula cordobae prefers cool to intermediate temperatures, shaded conditions, high humidity, and excellent air circulation. The growing medium should remain consistently moist without becoming waterlogged, while direct sunlight and prolonged high temperatures should be avoided.
As with many Dracula species, its flower spikes may develop downwards, making containers that allow the inflorescences to emerge freely particularly suitable.
With its remarkable flowers and fascinating botanical characteristics, Dracula cordobae is an attractive addition to any collection of rare and unusual orchids.
