Cycnodes Jumbo Puff

Cycnodes Jumbo Puff is a fascinating intergeneric orchid hybrid from the Catasetinae group, combining the distinctive characteristics of Cycnoches and Mormodes. This spectacular hybrid is particularly appreciated for its colourful, waxy flowers, which can display attractive shades of yellow, orange, and reddish tones, creating an impressive tropical floral display. Its strong pseudobulbs and seasonal growth habit make it especially interesting for collectors of unusual orchids.

It thrives in intermediate to warm temperatures with bright, filtered light, good humidity, and excellent air circulation. This plant is cultivated in a pot using a well-draining orchid substrate that retains sufficient moisture during active growth. During the growing season, abundant watering and regular fertilisation are essential to support vigorous development. As the leaves begin to yellow and fall, watering should be gradually reduced, followed by a pronounced dry resting period. Regular watering should resume only when new growth has developed sufficiently established roots.

With its vibrant flowers, exotic appearance, and fascinating seasonal growth cycle, Cycnodes Jumbo Puff is an exceptional addition to any collection of Catasetinae orchids.
