Cattleya Beaufort is a charming primary hybrid between Cattleya coccinea and Cattleya luteola, registered in 1963 and particularly appreciated for its compact growth habit and beautifully coloured flowers. This fascinating hybrid combines the brilliant red pigmentation of C. coccinea with the delicate yellow tones of C. luteola, producing attractive blooms that can range from golden yellow and orange to vibrant red, depending on the individual plant. The flowers are relatively large in proportion to the compact size of the plant, making this hybrid especially desirable among collectors of miniature Cattleya.
It thrives in intermediate to warm temperatures with bright, filtered light, moderate to high humidity, and excellent air circulation. This plant is cultivated in a pot using a coarse, highly draining orchid substrate that provides excellent aeration around the roots. Water regularly during active growth, allowing the substrate to dry slightly between waterings and avoiding prolonged water stagnation.
With its compact dimensions, vibrant colouring, and prestigious botanical parentage, Cattleya Beaufort is a beautiful and rewarding addition to any collection of miniature Cattleya hybrids.
