- Yodo no Matsu, meaning “Pine by the Pool,” is an impressive bean leaf variety with thick, dark green leaves. The flowers are white and star-shaped, with a short nectary spur typical of bean leaf varieties. I’ve encountered stunning specimens with notably tall growth, likely inspiring its name, as the plant can reach heights reminiscent of a tree.Like all bean leaf varieties, Yodo no Matsu is striking both as a small plant and as a larger, multi-growth specimen. It shares a resemblance to ‘Tamakongo,’ but tends to develop a broader leaf span as it matures. Its foliage is particularly robust and vigorous.
- Like all Neofinetia, prefers an environment with good air circulation and filtered light. It grows well in well-draining substrates and requires a certain level of ambient humidity to thrive. In winter, it is advisable to reduce watering.
- Repotted in the middle of august (it may be that not all roots can be active)
